Terms of Service
The rules and conditions for using the Salute app and website. Last updated: March 2026.
1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using the Salute mobile application, website, or any related services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Salute App ("Salute", "we", "us").
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this age requirement and that all information you provide is accurate and complete. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
3. Account & Security
- • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
- • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access or security breach at security@salutewellness.app.
- • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or exhibit suspicious activity.
4. The Service
Salute provides AI-powered pantry management, recipe suggestions, voice-guided cooking, gamification features, and smart shopping lists. The Service is provided "as is" and we continuously improve it. We reserve the right to:
- • Modify, update, or discontinue features with reasonable notice.
- • Perform scheduled maintenance, during which the Service may be temporarily unavailable.
- • Set usage limits on certain features in the free tier.
5. Subscriptions & Payments
- • Free tier — basic features are available at no cost, subject to the limits described on our pricing page.
- • Premium & Annual plans — paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis through the App Store, Google Play, or our website.
- • Free trial — new users receive a 14-day free trial of Premium. You will not be charged until the trial ends. You may cancel at any time during the trial.
- • Cancellation — you may cancel your subscription at any time. Access continues until the end of the current billing period. No partial refunds are provided for unused time.
- • Price changes — we will notify you at least 30 days before any price increase. Continued use after the change constitutes acceptance.
6. Right of Withdrawal (EU)
Under the EU Consumer Rights Directive, you have the right to withdraw from a purchase within 14 days without giving any reason. For digital content, you acknowledge that by starting the free trial or accessing premium features, you consent to the immediate provision of the service and waive your right of withdrawal once the service has been fully performed. To exercise your withdrawal right before that point, contact hello@salutewellness.app.
7. Your Content & Data
- • You retain ownership of all data you enter into Salute (pantry items, recipes, ratings, etc.).
- • You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process your data solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Service.
- • You may export your data at any time in JSON format from the app settings.
- • Upon account deletion, your data is erased in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- ✗ Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable laws.
- ✗ Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the application.
- ✗ Interfere with or disrupt the Service, servers, or networks connected to it.
- ✗ Create multiple accounts to abuse free tier limits or promotions.
- ✗ Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to access the Service without written permission.
9. Intellectual Property
The Salute name, logo, app design, website content, recipe database, and all related intellectual property are owned by Salute App or its licensors. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our trademarks, logos, or branding without prior written consent.
10. Disclaimers
- • Not medical or dietary advice — Salute provides general food management tools and recipe suggestions. It is not a substitute for professional dietary or medical advice. Always consult a qualified professional for specific dietary needs.
- • Food safety — expiry date tracking is based on user-entered data and general heuristics. Always use your judgment and follow local food safety guidelines.
- • Allergens — while recipes include ingredient lists, Salute does not guarantee the detection of all allergens. Users with food allergies should independently verify all ingredients.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Salute shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under EU law.
12. Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the European Union and the member state in which Salute is established, without regard to conflict of law principles.
- • For EU consumers: you may bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence. You may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform.
- • We encourage resolving disputes informally first by contacting hello@salutewellness.app.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notification or email at least 30 days before taking effect. If you disagree with the changes, you may close your account before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
