Duplicate Detection
Add "yellow onion" when you already have "red onion"? Hey Pantry! recognizes similar items and prompts: merge quantities, replace, or create as a new entry. Fuzzy matching catches 94% of near-duplicates.
Merge & Aggregate
When merging, you choose: sum quantities (200g + 300g = 500g), replace with the new entry, or keep both. The app auto-converts compatible units (g↔kg, ml↔L).
Voice & Scan Input
Say "Two avocados and 500 grams of chicken" โ the parser extracts name, quantity, and unit with regex-level precision. Barcode scanner for packaged products. OCR mode lets you photograph a recipe and extract the ingredient list automatically.
Expiry Heuristics
Urgency-sorted by default: red (<1 day), amber (<3 days), green (safe). Filters: urgency, name A-Z, expiry ascending. When cleared, defaults to alphabetical.
Shopping Cart That Mirrors Your Pantry
The cart shares the pantry's intelligence โ same duplicate detection, same merge logic, same voice input. When you swipe left on a cart item, the same similarity engine kicks in, ensuring no accidental duplicates.
